Actually the situation is very similar in Spain and Italy. In Spain, a nationalist stabbed an antifa in self defence while they were trying to surround him in the metro train, and he was sentenced for years. I can't recall his name but the video of the incident is available.

I managed to dig up the video. Fuck antifa, and he would probably end up getting attacked, but from legal point of view no lawyer in the world could justify that as self defense. He already pulled a knife before they got on, and stabbing someone for getting in your face is way above reasonable force. We all know it would turn ugly, but fuck it, if you are going to take up activates where you know self-defenses scenario is likely, at least study the relevant laws and act accordingly.
