I am actually looking at them on craigslist now, I'm thinking I'll grab one this weekend I've only got about 150$ to get a guitar and amp but I think I can pull it off even if I end up having to order it online.

I'll be around today. My show is rained out and postponed. Before buying a Craigslist guitar, you're invited to share the link with me.

You can do so by PM, if you want. Though, I suppose we can all approximate where you live, you may still wish to maintain some privacy.

You're not obligated to do so - of course. But, well... It's not always easy to pull a good guitar from the used guitar pile. This is something that I have vast amounts of experience with.

I’ll do that, thanks for the offer.

'Snot a problem. You'll also want to bring your cell phone with you when you go to look at the guitar.

You'll plug it in and make sure everything works. You'll tune the top string to E (your cell phone has a tuner, if you install an app). You'll then check to see if it's playing an E, an octave higher, on the 12th fret.

There's many guitar tuner apps. Martin makes one that I trust enough to recommend. So search your app store for Martin Tuner and you should find something.
