Ah yes I learned a thing or two about that when I worked with brain injured people, high neural plasticity is typically unique to young people, It is occasionally observed in adults but its rare. There was a type of therapy that helped but I can't remember what it was called, it involved hooking electrodes to the patients head and stimulating certain parts of the brain while showing certain types of images. Super interesting stuff.
Anyway hopefully I've got enough left to learn. I won't be practicing for 6 hours a day but I'm sure I can get in at least an hour everyday.
Even if you don't become a master, or use it as a profession, it's a lovely hobby.
I think I'm going to enjoy it immensely. I've always wanted to learn and just never had the determination to sit down and do it.
Any ETA on when you're going to pick it up?
