I'm pretty good, but she's also practicing about six hours a day. Every time I turn around, she's attached to my hip trying to learn more and continually bugging me for a new formal lesson. She's literally practicing for more hours than I do. I try to play for four hours per day, with two dedicated to practice and two for rehearsal. She's doing pure practice for six hours and then probably playing around for another two.

It's also much easier to learn when you're younger. There's a part of your left hypothalamus that will develop if you study while the brain is still plasticine. The more you study as a youth, the more it develops. As an adult, that doesn't happen. Your neural pathways are, for the most part and typically, already set.
