As always I enjoyed the read. I even left a comment on your site. I'm pretty excited to open this thing up. I can't wait until it arrives. I'll post pictures of the whole experience.

Do, please, check the videos out. They're (more or less) posted fairly specifically for you - but I'm pretty confident that other people can gain from them as well. I'll have to approve your comment, of course. And, of course, I did.

I did something very odd, for me. I directly linked to Poal. That's definitely a rarity and I took a while to ponder the potential downsides of it. I feel it may detract from the value of the site, because not everyone is a fan of free speech and many consider this site's content to be degenerate and deplorable.

Then I figured fuck it, I'm not getting sponsors anyhow! LOL Ain't no company going to sponsor me - and I'm pretty sure my language will get me booted from any affiliate program that did accept me. I also hold no punches and will tell a company (and my viewers) when they made a shit product.

For example, your amplifier. It's going to be pretty fucking shitty. In the list of shitty amps, it's better than most. You'll almost certainly be happy with it - for a while. But, it's still a shitty amp. I'm not going to lie and pretend it's not a shitty amp. I'm going to be straight forward and tell you.

By the way, when you're ready to start looking at other gear, there's some chance that I will invest the time and effort to recommend specific brands and models. If you want me to do so, I'll probably be willing to do so. However, you're not obligated to heed my recommendations and there are times when I may not feel comfortable putting my name and reputation on the line.

For me to directly link a specific brand and model, from a specific vendor, is very unusual. That's something I don't do except very rare instances. I feel pretty comfortable with recommending this specific kit and this specific vendor - to you and in these specific circumstances.

If you're not happy, you can check with me (first) and I'll see where to go from there. Your next stop would be Musician's Friend - as they'll take care of warranty items for a while after the sale. (I think it's 365 days.) We'll know tonight if everything is working properly.

And, again, you're under no obligation to heed any advice or recommendations. My feelings will be hurt exactly zero, should you decide to do your own thing. In fact, I'd encourage you to do your own thing. When it comes time for an amp, you might want to research that on your own. Then, when you've generated your short-list, you can (only if you want) ask me which I'd purchase, recommend, or what the benefits are, or other things like that.

I'm more than happy to help - but I am not your guitar teacher. I will provide you (and others) with resources and you can either accept them or not. Even if folks do not, I'll still more than happily assist them in their quest to acquire musical skill.

(And I damned well want pictures! I may ask for a few specific pictures AND I may ask for the rights to publish them, assuming they're quality pictures. If not, I have pretty much this same exact model and can take my own damned pictures!)

Wow... I'm pretty damned wordy today.

Oh I'm sure I'll be looking to you for advice for a good long while going forward, you are getting rid of me that easy. I'd be willing to get I won't find anyone with more experience. Only 2 hours left until its supposed to arrive.

I'm living vicariously through you! (I replied to your comment on the site. I don't actually have reply notifications enabled, I don't think. I might, but few people comment and I've not bothered installing a plugin to facilitate that. Jetpack might do it. I dunno...)

It's great that you're excited and you'll have a better experience with it because the guitar is new and should be very playable.

Hopefully, you keep that excitement. There's a reason that not everyone plays guitar and that many guitar players don't play it well. It's 'cause it's work. It's not very easy (except for the limited subset of the population that is a virtuoso) but it's attainable for pretty much anyone willing to put the work in.

You'll probably want some pedals (and my initial advice would be some combination board that handles many effects) and you'll probably want a new amplifier.

You don't need either. You can play, practice, and learn well enough with just this kit. Otherwise, I'd have not suggested it. But, you'll find yourself wanting those things. When that time comes, I can help.

Also, I've never sold a guitar. I'm a unicorn in those regards. Every guitarist that has played a while has also sold a guitar, except for me. I've given some away, but I've never sold any.

But, I've sold tons of effects pedals, amps, stands, etc... I might be able to dig out a decent amp and offer it to you at a good price. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I buy all sorts of used gear and have tons and tons of guitar-related material, from amps to music stands. It's kinda embarrassing how much gear I have.

It's not just in my house, either. There's some in my garage, up on the second floor. There's also a ton of it that's in storage in a storage unit. Initially, I replaced much of my gear when I sold and retired. The older stuff stayed in storage. However, I've added significantly to it since then. So, there's a lot of gear in the storage units and I keep telling myself that I'm going to go through it and get rid of some of it.

Like I said, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. When you start looking for an amp, and you most certainly will, that'll be a big step for you. I can see this potentially turning into a series of articles, actually. We shall see!
