I have some guitars with sustainer systems built into 'em. Both are Fernandes. I use them when I cover Steve Vai.

Are they nicer to play with those systems? Does it make it easier to hold notes for longer(I imagine it would)

The sustainer system means you can pluck a note, put the guitar down, walk away, and come back 30 minutes later - and the note will still be playing. It's a necessary tool for faithful replication of people like Vai.
