Well I appreciate the thoughts on the matter. I did not know you couldn't harvest in the rain, but I can't mow my grass in the rain either and well it ain't getting mowed today.
Raking in the rain squishes the berries and we make more money selling berries that aren't mushy. We can rake in the rain and sell them to the cannery, but the cannery pays the least. The wine company picked up their berries last Friday - they don't mind 'em mushy but the rain gives the berries extra weight (we sell by weight) and I like to give them a good price as this is their first year buying bulk.
I actually gave them a bunch of berries last year. I was like, "Here, take these berries and make me some delicious wine."
They did! They took the berries and gave me 96 bottles of delicious wine. The rest of the wine sold and they decided they're going to buy more berries and make more delicious wine. 'Cause they give me delicious wine, I give them a very good price for berries.
Hmm...
I now want delicious blueberry wine and it's not even noon. Tempting...
It isn't even noon, I'm on 2 hours sleep and I'll admit after the work in the yard and with how sore I am, I'm considering polishing one off.(having a drink not the other thing) You should send me some of that wine, in December(after the baby is born) as I don't like wine myself, however I do quite enjoy when the wife drinks it. She has commented on your stuff from time to time. You can probably guess who she is if you don't outright know already. I've not exactly kept it a secret. She likes wine and I'd bet that she would like blueberry wine a lot.
I'll still practice today, I will its almost impossible for me not too. Its sitting next to me now. Along with my pick. the one I am binding to my soul so if the god of picks wants that pick they will have to take my soul with it.
After you have practiced for at least a half hour, you can watch this movie - with some beers.
