I've hung out with quite a few drummers over the years, considering for a time I was one. I've never heard that.

I have not but the night is young. Its been a complicated 2 weeks with things getting even more complicated tomorrow, so I've been lacks on the practice but I plan on picking it up for some dedicated practice tonight. I have played with the idea of trying to make rocksmith work again but I'll probably just play.

Went and found you an example:

Have you managed to get the G, D, and C chords to ring mostly clean? Can you transfer smoothly between them?

I can play those chords, but I wouldn't say I can transfer between anything clean yet. I'm really learning very slowly. I have considered taking lessons at this point more than once.

If you want a suggestion, practice them and try to get them to transfer smoothly.

Ideally, and don't worry about speed, you can make them ring clean - that is with no muted strings. If you can do that, you can play a song - and that might interest you and help keep your motivation up, as well as your sense of accomplishment.

You have set yourself a formidable task. Playing guitar is not actually as easy as we make it look!

Someday, you'll look back at these days and laugh - and feel great pride in your accomplishments. I believe in you. If I didn't, I'd not take the time to type this.
