Dunno? I've never been on an R6. My bike experience is pretty limited. Hell, I can sum it up in like five minutes.

My first bike was like a CB500 and I rode it 'cause it was cheap and then I had no bike for a lot of years. I think I sold my bike during the divorce, and it probably wasn't even running by then. I may have sold it even sooner, I don't really remember and don't miss it. I'd not get another bike for many years.

Then I got the Goldwing, which was a nice touring bike - but didn't suit me. It was also when I learned the joys of the wide variety of clothing you can get. They even tried to sell me a trailer to hook behind the motorcycle. There's a Honda accessory for everything. Still, it didn't suit me. Sold it.

I got my BMW, and it was wonderful but someone felt they could occupy the same lane as I could, and that they could do it at the same time. If I got the urge, I could take that down back roads and even over some trails, depending on how much work I wanted to put into it. That got put on a flatbed and I've never seen it since, insurance took care of it. I miss it.

So, I got the current bike 'cause it was a steal. It was fairly inexpensive and close enough for me to go pick it up. But... It's kind of terrifying and I can see why the guy sold it. It really needs a more expert rider than myself, to truly take advantage of it. I have no business owning that bike, none. I like it - but not that much. Someone who's a much better rider than I would probably like it more.

I'd love to truly open that bike up and unleash it, but I'd die. I can ride it but I am not skilled enough to really do it any justice. I'm just not gonna do wheelies down Main St. or stand on the front brakes. I'm also not going to get my knees within centimeters of the road, which the bike will happily do. Fuck that. I just don't have that kind of skill or experience. I'm pretty sure it'd kill me. It's only fun for a little while and I doubt I'll keep it for very long.

Well I have a bit more experience on bikes than that, they have almost killed me more than once. I can drag peg with the best of them, I love bikes I really do, they will probably kill me one day honestly. I've had at least 10 since I was 16, my mother told me you will never own a motorcycle while you live under my roof, so almost the first thing I did when I left was buy one, that was a real POS too like it barely ran, it was a 1976 Kawasaki KZ750, it took me ages to get it home I could not clutch that bike to save my life and it was a 750 and kick start only which I also did not know how to do. Lost that one in my first wreck. I've loved everyone of them since and the last one I gave away after a close call. I'll get another some day I'm just not sure when.

I've got a rather funny story about sport bikes in particular, do you know why you shouldn't jump a sport bike? Well I sure as hell do. I decided I was going to be billy bad ass and take my CBR600 on a dirt bike track at the end of a trail near my driveway at the time, well it had a big 6ft tall jump. I hit that sucker going probably 15mph maybe 20 and got about 10 ft in the air from what I am told and when I came down I immediately slid directly forward on the seat and slammed my twig and berries into the tank. I did not drop the bike but I was done for the fucking day holy shit that hurt, it hurt worse than my first wreck did.

TLDR: Do not jump sport bikes with out a cushion between you and the tank.

Yeah, the thought of leaving the ground on this bike would terrify me. Maybe if it were one of those high speed tracks that they do things like MotoGP on them, where there's like a nice place to slide off and I've got better PPE.

Now that you make me think of it...

It'd be fucking hilarious to get the complete fancy nomex and leather outfit that the professional racers wear, the body armor plastic they wear under it, the pads, the boots, etc... I'm pretty sure the village people would revolt, 'cause I'd be a damned menace before my untimely, and near certain, demise.

We have trees that line the roads, tourists, animals in the road, and roads that take winter damages. Even with all the kit, it'd kill me. That suit isn't gonna do a damned bit of good when ol' Buddha smashes into a fucking pulp truck.

My BMW happily told me that it was made for "Adventure." I was pretty happy with that. It was usable for lots of things. It was also more comfortable. It was still sporty, but I could have just as easily driven it across the Sahara. It was fast enough to scare someone, but not overly aggressive. I want to say it was more forgiving - if that makes any sense?

Make sense but doesn't sound like the bike for me which is disappointing I wanted to someday get a BMW bike and love it but it doesn't sound like I would. Sigh, such is life I guess I'll stick with my R6s. I like things fast enough to do something stupid on as I generally (as the previous story suggested) will find something stupid to do and generally it works out better than that story did. On two wheels I want to be the fastest most maneuverable thing on the road or something close too it.

You know what we call the guys that don't wear gear in my neck of the woods? We call them squids because that is what they will look like when they go down. Always wear a helmet.
