Yeah, same for me. I really need to get off my ass and post something. I need to get some decent recording equipment. I've tried on my phone and it sounds terrible. Do you have any suggestion for that? I'm going to buy a couple new guitars and an amp tomorrow. I'm buying the stuff from my Uncle. He is dying from cancer and I'm trying to just give him the money, but he is too proud to take it, so I suggested that I buy some of his stuff. I'll takes some pics and pm you tomorrow night.
Just get a decent mic and use the input on your soundcard. That works well enough.
I buy top-end gear, so you don't wanna pay attention to me. Like, MOTU type of stuff.
I am very interested in the guitars you buy. The forum has an appraisal section. I am fully qualified to appraise. I've done some here and on Voat, but none ever made it to the forum. There's also a marketplace on the forum.
Don't PM me with 'em. Share 'em in the guitar thread - if you want. We like pictures!
Also, don't worry about the quality of the recording. Really...
And, if you do use a phone, don't put the phone close. Stick it at least 10' away, hit record, and just edit out the white noise/pre playing stuff with Audacity. We don't actually have high standards!
That just might be the problem. Putting the phone too close. Huh. I'll give it a shot, thanks.
Phone mics are intentionally actually pretty sensitive. They filter some of it out when you make a phone call (parts of the spectrum aren't carried through) but the recording software on them has no such things like automated noise reduction and normalization.
