Because we've been down here all winter, it feels cooler.
Back home, I'd be outside in a t-shirt if it was 50° in February. Down here, everyone's wearing jackets and woolen hats.
Fuck, it's still 53° outside right now. That's pretty tame. There's a predicted high of 56 on Tuesday (though one day is predicted to only reach 37).

It's funny how that works. If you move from the south to the north, or the opposite direction, there's a real physiological change in your body. You grow a layer of fat across the back of your shoulders within the first year of moving north, with more of a layer depending on how much time you spend outside. You lose it if you move in the opposite direction.
