The drums themselves sound absolutely wonderful. Which, well, they should sound wonderful, considering the expense and quality.
But, a bit part of it is sorta the sound engineering. They sent me a very specific mic kit, it's just for drums and specifically for larger drum kits. I want to say it's 7 mics?
Not only did they send me mics, they told me where to put 'em and how to set them up for recording. It's actually a bit different than you'd set it up for performing. We followed those directions and that is a big part of it.
I would like to have a recording mic kit for set up around my drums, but those damned things are outrageously expensive too, the last time I looked. At least a grand for a decent set
I have no idea what they cost individually. They're made by Shure. So, they're probably mid-price range.
I have no idea either, just a vague recollection. I need to get cymbals first anyways.
