In theory, you could get a key from a junkyard car - but you'd need the sensors, the ECU, and then you'll still need to pay to have everything synced with your system.
Modern cars suck like that - and modern imported cars are even worse and have been worse since the mid 1990s. The EU was first to change the anti-theft regulations and then there has been a trend of making keys more and more special for luxury/sport/exotic cars.
Some of my newer cars don't actually have keys that start the ignition. It's a fob that sits in your pocket or has to be in a special slot. Those are a couple grand to replace - but you can lose 'em and replace 'em at the same price. They just need to be programmed.
