That's outrageous
It is what it is. It's the price we pay for having cars that are harder to steal.
Automobile theft dropped significantly with the changes. So, there's that.
I guess. And it does suck when your car gets stolen. I had one stolen from me once as I was walking into the gas station to pay for the gas I just put in it. I looked out the window and my car was pulling out onto the street. I ran out after it, but that was futile. So I went in and paid for the gas and called the cops to report the car stolen and they said they can not make a report of car theft unless I bring them the title. So I walked home, and hat to break in cause my house key is on the key ring with the car key, and got the title and back to the police station to report it stolen. When I got there, unbeknownst to me, my car had been in a five car accident and the driver ran away, and the cops suddenly came up with the idea that I was reporting it stolen to get away with running from the accident. It was so ridiculous. The cops took me to an interrogation room and were playing good cop bad cop. Though they both were convinced I was the one driving when it was wrecked. Then they call the gas station to see if they can look at the surveillance video and see if I am lying or not. Of course it has already been confiscated by other police officers who are investigating an armed robbery at that same gas station near the time my car was stolen. So now the cops are convinced that I was the robber and was running from the robbery and thats why i crashed and then ran from the accident. When the reality was, my car had been stolen while I was walking in to pay for the gas I had just pumped. Things were going from bad to worse that day. When suddenly the police got word from one of the hospitals that a car accident victim had just walked in needing medical treatment, they did a blood type match from the head wound on them and the blood from the windshield of my car to prove it was them and charged them with all this. I was still out of a car. They finally let me go. I never got reimbursed for my car
I have never had a car stolen by a stranger. I've had my car stolen by my daughter. I've had multiple chicks steal my car.
The last one that stole my car was supposed to leave it in an airport parking lot, but she cashed in the plane ticket I bought her (I was sending her home to her family 'cause she was a klepto and a psycho) and stole the car. I assume she drove it to Arizona, but I have no idea what happened to it after that.
It's a long story. She was the midwife that I used to date. I paid her a bunch of money to go away. The final slap in the face was she stole my car. I did not report it stolen. I wanted nothing more to do with her. Having the car stolen on top of everything else was worth it for her to just be gone.
