Are they returnable for a deposit in your state?

No. They just go to the recycle bin

In Maine cans and bottles are worth 5¢ and hard alcohol containers are worth 15¢.

There's usually a few hundred dollars worth after my 4th of July party. I've never once had to clean up my own lawn from the event. Someone will always do it for the cans and bottles. Though we use trash cans with labels on them so that people tend to put things in the right spot and it's not much of a mess to deal with.

If they were worth 5 cents a can I imagine all the cans and bottles would leave my house with the people that come over as soon as they are empty!
