Just to make sure we're on the same page, I have the thread tonight.
I thought so, I was just going to ask you and make sure!
We were asked to come play again this weekend but we declined. The other band and the venue rented out stage for this weekend. It's absolutely pouring down the rain this weekend, so there's no fucking way they'll be playing outside at all.
As they won't have even pulled it out of the trailer, we'll probably not give a shit and will not charge them. The venue is great to us and the other band opens for us sometimes.
We are playing there next weekend. Just Friday and Saturday. No other venue has tried to book us yet. They're not having major live entertainment, or not risking paying that much for live entertainment. We don't come cheap. Depending on what you want, it can cost you well into the five figures to have us for a weekend. In fact, for a full weekend it will be in the five figures.
There's six musicians, four roadies, one person in sound. They've all gotta get paid. Five of the musicians get paid every week, even if they don't perform. So, we have to hold onto our money that we make and be pretty smart about it.
Stage rental is not cheap, they will be really super happy when they find out they don't have to pay if they haven't used it. It rained from Monday through Thursday here so that's probably what's out there by you now.
How many people showed up to watch your band last weekend when you played outside?
