Laughing is (generally) a good thing. They say laughter is the best medicine, but that's probably not true.
I had to roll into Augusta today, to hit up the VA for a physical. My left leg/hip is about an inch below my right now. I may end up going in for a replacement at some point, but I've not even yet spoken with a surgeon. So, it's just what the doctor said today.
does the inch less cause you trouble?
That'd be where the pain is likely still coming from. That'd be the root cause. It's still degenerating. It must be, as the difference wasn't that much before. I've had it measured by fancy lasers and a whole damned team of experts take a look at the results.
I've since done some reading and it looks like the only realistic solution is a fake hip. They chop off the top of the femur and replace it. They also rip out the socket and replace that.
I ain't doing that. I'd rather deal with the discomfort than risk that fucking kind of surgery. Right now, the leg works. If it stops working, I'll give it some consideration. Until then, I'll just deal with it.
I'll verify all this with said team of experts. This was a VA physical, so I'm gonna go ahead and get a 2nd opinion. It does explain the continued discomfort - but that could be any number of other reasons. I've got a few bucks and insurance still hasn't settled with me. So, I'll make sure to look into it more thoroughly with experts.
my life is so unreal. verle and a buddy were drinking beer on my porch when i woke up, and got to take two women to bed with me and spent the night with them while verle and my buddy were sitting there drinking beer
