If I stop responding, it's not that I don't like you, it's that I'm occupied.
Understood - no worries.
How long have you been playing?
Somewhere around 20 years, but not consistently. I started playing guitar in a numetal band at about 13 years old. Picked up some bass guitar as I got into college (mostly slap), and then started getting into electronic composition since then. Now in my late 30s and my guitar technique is a little sloppier than I prefer. Trying to refine it so I can layer a heavy edge to the electronic music tracks I'm working on.
Nice. I started off taking formal lessons in classical guitar, so my form is pretty solid. I'm of the opinion that it's easier to learn good habits than it is to unlearn bad habits.
I've gotta work tonight, tomorrow night, and Monday night. That's okay, I'll probably skip a set every night except for on Monday. Technically, we're done playing at 22:00 on Monday, but we usually keep going until the bar kicks us out. It becomes a giant jam session after 22:00.
100% agree on training correctly from the start. I had some classical training but not enough to be proficient. Got my music theory down though!
Have a great weekend jamming. I'll check the archives to dig up and listen your older tracks in the meantime.
We have an official archivist, named . We have full archives at https://fngt.gq/forum/.
If you're interested in a certain style of music (from flamenco and classical to classic rock or neoclassical metal) he may have some suggestions. However, he may be otherwise engaged/unable to comment immediately.
