Man... Remember the Dodge K cars, like the Dodge Aries K? The K platform was in many ways good, but man... It was Iococa's doing at Chrysler and the K platform not only saved them from bankruptcy they were able to pay back the money the government loaned them well ahead of time.
And they still sucked...
The Dodge Caravan was a K platform vehicle.
The first year Caravan could be had with a 5 speed and a 6 cyl. engine. They weren't aware who the customers would be - families by the millions. So, for one year they had 6 cyl and 5 speed transmissions offered - probably for small delivery van purposes.
Hmm... Some day, someone's gonna show up at a car show with a Dodge Caravan - and people are gonna 'oohh and wwooowww' at it.
I remember those K cars and I thought they sucked when they were new
They did. The Dodge Aries K is one of the few cars that I have a hard time saying anything good about it.
It, and its ilk, were often shitty - they were just less shitty than the previous nonsense. That's a testament about how shitty their previous shit was.
Man, I owned a Cutlass from 78. It had a giant V8 with like 145 horsepower. I called it The Nutless Cutlass. The compression ratio was so low to meet emission standards and efficiency guidelines. Instead of making a good engine, they just took their engines and intentionally made them shitty.
I need to write a book. "The Goddamned Truth About Cars: A History Book"
Also, this is the 14th race. The next race is also full of Jags.
Christopher is here so im going to have to catch the replay
