You can open a comment in a new tab and reply to it while playing an expando compatible link in another 😉

LOL If I get time I'll write an 'official' bug report.

It appears to be only with SoundCloud. I can play other expando content while responding. Here's an image:

Try to comment while the track is playing in Chromium. In comment replies and post replies, you can't do it. You can't comment while it's still playing. You can comment while it is playing when it's a different source. It looks like it just happens with SoundCloud.
