No... They are made by VW, so there's that. That's not going to matter much when you need to replace something.

Shit, just the serpentine belt is probably expensive and not in stock at AutoZone.

I assume it won't be too bad to maintain it.

If something breaks, it's gonna cost some money. Sure, a tune-up is probably like $450, but you shouldn't have to do much more than that, lube on time, regular oil changes, and then consumables like tires.

But, if something breaks - if anything breaks - it's gonna cost you. I hate to think of what it'd cost to have a water pump replaced, a replacement starter put in, or even replacing the alternator.
