I'm not a huge fan of goat-ropin' music, but I do like The Man In Black.
Hell, there's even an interesting story about his nickname. I'm too lazy to recount it, and would probably mess it up, but I remember it being interesting.
I'm not big on country music either, especially the modern stuff. I can appreciate Johnny, Willie, Patsy, Gentleman Jim Reeves, a few others but not many.
I was a dj for a May-September wedding a few years ago, and the bride only wanted disco and '80s pop, and the groom only wanted hard-drinkin' George Jones songs from his crewcut days. I don't know if that marriage lasted.
I've actually played in a couple of country bands. Both mostly covered newer material, but did dig into some of the oldies. By the era I was doing that, country wasn't that much different than rock.
Hmm... I actually own a couple of steel guitars and a I have at least one lap steel guitar here somewhere.
Well, I don't have any steel or lap steel guitars, so if you have any to spare...
