Yeah, I thought that sucked too. You have a whole lot more property than I do
It's not so much that I have more property - it's that I'm not in a town. I'm not in a municipal region, there's no local government. With no local government, there's no zoning board. I don't need to get a building permit. There's nobody to ask about getting a building permit, even if I wanted to get a building permit.
It's not how much property I own, it's where the property is located that matters.
I do own property where I'd need a permit to build, but not on this property.
Two things:
They won't run electricity unless the wiring is up to code. Septic must be dealt with in a way that conforms to the law - but there's no regulations about how I make it conform.
Do you have one of these?
I have a giant tank and a modern leech field. It's huge, like 2000 gallons and another 2000 gallons of greywater storage.
It's a big house and I often have a lot of people here. Plus, I'd hate to have to pump it in the winter.
If they notice, they'll (probably) fine you and then fine you for every day the structure still stands. I'm not sure that's a risk I'd want to take. You can probably build a 'pole barn' on your property and those avoid many regulations.
I don't think I have that exact pedal.
Yeah, that too...
You just got yourself a tank for the septic where you live don't you.
I was thinking what if I just went ahead and built myself a garage. No electricity just a structure and didnt have a permit, would they even notice?
