it's needlessly wasteful to have to upload images more than once.
Are you talking about pic8? Because when you submit an image, it automatically does that in the background. You don't have to upload the image several times.
Yes, I am talking about them.
You have two choices, upload it multiple times or keep track of the URLs somehow.
I like to post images more than once, often months apart when it's relevant again. There's no account function on pic8, meaning you'll need to keep track of the URLs or upload it multiple times - every time you want to use it again, you'll need to upload it again (unless you maintain a list of URLs that say what the image is).
upload it multiple times
pic8 does an image hash check to see if an image has been uploaded before, and if that's the case, it will instantly provide you with the same old link, instead of uploading it again.
Yeah, that's a whole lot of extra work. I'd much rather just give people accounts, so they don't need to upload it again - or start the upload process and get the resultant URL after waiting for the hash check. This way, they can just look in their albums and post the URL a second time.
Though, I do like the hash check. Stopping needless re-uploads will be nice and save disk space. I suspect that it'd be trivial to make it appear in their galleries after they've tried to upload something with a matching hash.
