Yeah he very well may have meant to tell you
I'm 99.9% sure he never told me.
I was completely shocked when I got a call from his daughter informing me that I needed to 'come over' and that I was expected to come over 'right now'.
(There's fuck-all for me to actually do, but they seemed to think I needed to be there immediately.)
I let them know that I was in Virginia for the winter, and calmed them down. I let them know that I had copies of a bunch of his important documents stored in a safe at my house. I had J open the safe and get out said documents. My lawyer grabbed them all around lunch time and can (hopefully) deal with this for me.
I'm willing to go back to Maine, but I'm not looking forward to it.
As long as the family is not in dispute I would think your lawyer should be able to do what needs to be done. It's mostly simply formalities unless there are disputes anyways, isn't it?
Pretty much. It's a good job for my lawyer. It's the kinda thing he can handle, though it's a bit 'beneath' him - and he'll surely push the work (if any) off on one of the aides. If they dispute anything, there's fuck all I can really do about it. That's a judge's responsibility, or an arbitrator before a judge's responsibility.
