Thanks. That's pretty much the only reason I do it.
I don't make a damned thing from it. I do it because people like it and it's nice to finally put these things down in writing. I do it because there needs to be some more OC out there about these sorts of topics.
Then, I submit it here 'cause I enjoy the idea of free speech and want to give it some content. Strangely, people found the article before I'd remembered to submit it. I have no idea who those folks were.
Well thats great if people are finding it before you submit it means people are checking your blog regularly.
That's my assumption. I don't write it for a mass audience but folks seem to like it. Meh...
I don't mind large audiences, but I do like to swear - a lot. I had one company email and ask about syndication. I did not accept their offer. I did nice, I didn't swear at them. I'm not sure who told 'em about the blog - but they wanted me to edit and give them rights republish to my Lessons for Performing Musicians series.
See, I don't need their money. They can fuck right off with wanting me to edit it. I put those swears there for a reason. I wanted 'em there. That's the reason.
Many years ago, I had an editor. I should probably have one now, but I don't actually expect this blog to go anywhere. I didn't actually expect it to last this long - so there's that. I gave it three weeks before I'd quit. That was months ago.
I'm glad you didn't edit and sell, I think that would have killed the authenticity of it. Made it less enjoyable you can tell reading it, its authentic written by someone with experience if you make it formal it just wouldn't be the same.
