I soldered up a couple new stomp boxes this week, so I had to check 'em out. The guitar sounds in the song are a red llama-type overdrive and/or a FoxxTone-type octave fuzz.
Back when I was younger, I made a few of my own stomp boxes. I was an EE student with a pure math minor before I switched for grad school as just an applied math major. So, while the knowledge was still fresh I had some fun. Somewhere in my stuff, I have my own fuzz box. I'll have to dig it out sometime.
I zen out when I solder. Maybe it's the fumes.
I built my first about five months ago. I've done a couple handfuls now, some special requests, some Christmas presents.
It's fun and easy. I don't know why I never did it before.
I bet it'd be more fun with today's tech. Hell, you can get an RPi for dirt cheap.
