LOL I haven't done anything like that in decades. I gave up when I realized the time invested was worth more than the actual cost of a professionally built device that had a warranty and return policy. I've made my own amplifiers, my own pedals, my own pickups, etc...
These days, if I want a tone I buy it. My time is worth more than the time spent building. I don't even repair any of my own devices.
I would kinda like to consider getting back into it with today's cheap compute power. I did once make my own box that gave me infinite sustain that could be selected - that was much like a looper would be today. That was with a dinosaur chip whose name I've forgotten but was like a dime a dozen back in the mid-80s. It was some Ti chip 80806 or something... You'd select 'on' and it'd look at the signal and for peak amplitude and then loop that. You could do like a dozen of 'em.
It was pretty useless outside of creating my own ungodly tones. I thought about marketing it to see if someone else could find some value in it.
Oh, and I once made my own noise maker. You had to use jumpers and dip switches and pots but it was programmable like that. That was a project done for school.
would you be willing share that project and maybe soon i can find most the parts or upgraded parts and add mods to it as well. would gladly make 2 and send you one to enjoy. or i can make bunch vids and you can enjoy. hell maybe can make a pc version of pedal and share that way
I'll try to listen tomorrow. I'm watching TV with the missus. Well, sorta... The TV is on and we're sorta watching.
