The only thing I can thing of is if you were accompanying someone playing on a capo you could play a low D or C along with them
It'd probably be nice to compose on - except nobody could cover you properly/effectively.
But, yeah, doing it as a drop D extra string might make a nice tone. And, I suppose, you're not actually obligated to use it.
I haven't been this excited to play guitar in a long time. I have no idea why. I mean, I'm getting a cheap fucking guitar with a cheap ass amp...
LOL I bet I can use 'em both to melt faces - though I will probably need to mic the amp up to a bigger amp if I wanted to truly melt faces.
It is awesome to have something to be excited for. Has you package with the first cheapo arrive yet?
Nope. It's supposed to be here tomorrow.
I haven't been this excited for a new guitar in a long time - and I've bought guitars in the 5 figure range in that time. Shit, the last 'big' buy included a '65 SG that was nearly six figures.
And, here I am excited over a guitar and amp that, together, cost less than $280 total... More excited, even...
I think it might be that I have all sorts of expensive guitars.
I do have some cheap guitars - but most of those were from my original collection, before I retired. And, for the sake of clarity, I considered a $400 Ibanez to be cheap. I have some Epiphone and some Squire type guitars.
It might also be that I can build out a collection of cheap guitars - keeping them as their own sort of collection - for not a whole lot of money. I've already started shopping for my next cheap guitar - but I'm going to force myself to wait a while.
