Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I presume you mold glass in an injection form, remove the air, and install a connector inside that will only connect when certain conditions are meant. It was obviously all mass produced at one point in our history, so we could certainly do so again today. Hell, we could probably make 'em better today than they ever were.

LoL that's a pretty vague description. There are some parts that go inside of the glass tube, I have no idea whet they are made of or what they entail, they appear to be some sort of metal

I think they vary, from copper to tungsten.

Either way, we've got fucking Wikipedia and it's 2022. I'm sure we can fucking figure it out. They were producing them by the millions before the IC was invented. The transistor (with the integrated circuit) was the demise of tubes in all but a few industries. The IC killed it.

Shit, I think we still use it for some applications in space? (Obviously with error correction and duplicates for backups.)

However, I'm pretty sure NASA would be making 'em out of robust material, with high standards, and perhaps even making them by hand.

Still... It's fucking 2022. We can make fucking vacuum tubes.

Yeah, I am going to need a glass blower and a fire furnace for melting glass

I have no doubt that they could definitely be mass produced today and if you made high quality tubes all the quality amp companies would come calling

I just watched this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8n4WVRKkmww

I did not expect to be learning how vacuum tubes were produced today but here I am. It appears to be a quite involved process
