Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

LOL Shit happens! Try as we might, we will never be perfect.

It's okay. Every performing guitarist, even the absolute greats, has hit the wrong string on stage.

Some sage advice:

"If you play the wrong note, play it a second time and glare at the audience as though you meant to do so."

One of the hardest things a performing musician can do is play through the mistakes. When you make a mistake, instinct is to stop and try over. You can't really do that in a live environment - unless you made some serious mistakes. You gotta keep on keeping on, 'cause the show must go on. If you do it a few times, it can fuck with your confidence. If I glare at you while walking over to your amp to turn it down, it means you've fucked up enough.

It also helps where there's a whole band that's also playing. They can hide your mistakes a bit.

I have resigned myself to that fact, I just keep on going

Nice! It's hard as fuck to not stop and start over. It can really fuck with your confidence.

When you're pushing a hundred watts of sound, a mistake can really stand out - even if it only stood out to you and your fellow band members.

Speaking of which, there are a lot of things that the audience never notices. Like, we roll in with full stacks or even double stacks if we're outside. Truth be told, we're not using all that gear. The front stuff is turned on, but the cabs in the back don't even have power running to them. We'd otherwise be too loud.

So, you have to remember that the audience probably didn't even notice - or care. There's a lot they don't notice. So, just push through it.

I figure if I just keep going the mistake will fade from their memory as the song continues. Especially if they are impressed by something that comes later in the song
