I agree! Plus, more guitarists is better than fewer, 'cause then we get the economy of scale working on our behalf.
You end up with cheap Chibson Les Pauls that you paid less than $200 for and came with perfect intonation, no fret buzz unless you wail on it (like all guitars that are quality), acceptable frets, great binding, acceptable hardware like pots, etc...
I'm kinda enjoying my Chibson Les Paul. The great thing is I give zero fucks if I break it. That doesn't mean I abuse it, it just means I really don't give a shit 'cause it's easily replaced for under $200. I've had guitars twice that expensive break in some manner.

At least 90% of 'em will quit or have already quit.
So, there's gonna be a flood of usable used gear within the next five years. I'm kinda seeing that already when I browse Craigslist, though I didn't know we had record sales until today.
I suspect many of them will keep them for a few years unless they are hurting for cash, simply to justify the expense
