Oh, man... Living with a bandmate can also suck. I've done that a time or two.
Sounds great, right? I had no choice at the time...good thing it's a nice big house, but tonight I have to endure listening to them rehearse with the new guy. Gonna be too tired after work to go anywhere.
But now I can put together a new band of non-stoners, like I've been wanting to do for months.
Finding sober(ish) and stable bandmates can be a pain in the ass.
Hell, in the 1980s I was in a band that got paid by the government to play schools and tell the kids about the dangers of drugs (Reagan era, if you don't know) and we were all pretty much inebriated - even while on stage.
However, I've generally been sober enough to do my job - with a few notable exceptions when I was in bands I really didn't care about and the attitude was more lax.
I think it's payback for when I was in my 20s, and never showed up to rehearsals sober..
Look, if it's a few bros juss dickin around, okay, whatever. But if a band's stated goal is to gig, they should forego gettin shitfaced until AFTER rehearsal. Especially if they are in their 40s-50s. Ain't high school!
