I like both.
I love making music and I love new gear.
i was just trying to listen to these two blues jams and the links are broken man
Oh, and those are likely hosted on sites that are no longer functional or the likes.
I'll get around to uploading everything from the archives, eventually.
A new guitar player should buy this:
https://www.capitalmusicgear.com/Product/Dunlop-Nylon-Pick-Assortment-4420
There are like 430 picks in there. I used to be able to get bulk 576 (48 dozen) picks for like half of that price - and I could pick the color.
This is what I have for guitar picks

I do like new gear too, but to get new gear that means I have to go to work and make money and I really don't care for going to work too much. I mean it's ok and I really don't mind it too much, and some of it is really interesting but I figure I only get to live once and even though its not too bad a task to work on these electronic devices and networks and things I really would rather spend my time doing other things and not trying to do things for the sole reason of making money. I dont need a new guitar that bad, There are several of them here. I don't really need anything except to fix my car and pay the monthly usage bills you get just for being alive and living in a modern home. I am not normal by any stretch of the imagination. But I can make my guitars sound cool enough for me, and I can play it pretty good. I would rather be getting on with these women who can't seem to get enough of me. Man I been having threesomes like three days a week every week this year. It's like I am a rick star. Well except one of the women is the same every time. But thats quite all right by me. Other than that I like to jam with my friends and write riffs and songs and I like the challenge of putting songs together, its like a complicated puzzle that is fun to put together. SO I am hoping that I get a chance to work in that recording studio I was telling you I had a phone interview with the other day. I would be eager to go there and help them make records or whatever musical things they are putting together. I hope they give me a chance. I know I can do what they need
LOL I, on the other hand, love playing with new gear. I enjoy the experience of a new guitar, a new pedal, or even just new strings. I love the smell of a new guitar. I love everything about it.
I want to have a guitar for every possible situation I can reasonably come up with. I like having interesting guitars. I also like to have nice things. I want my guitars to be in damned near pristine condition - not so that I can keep them that way but so that I can rely on them when I play them.
That and, man, you can buy a perfectly usable guitar for under $200. Who knew? Even a decade ago, a $200 guitar was pretty much useless. Today? There are a ton of awesome guitars in the Under $300 category amd a bunch under $200.
Oh, and current affairs are going to raise guitar prices. It's inevitable. Shipping costs are going through the roof. If you're gonna buy a new cheap guitar, such as an IYV, then you might want to do it sooner than later.
Robots make better employees for manufacturing things cheap than people, they are just so much more consistent
