Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Well, that was definitely different.

It's also twice that I've now seen that audio host.

Do you know their retention policy for the sake of archival purposes?

Nice runs. I take it you're a bluegrass fan?

(Ain't nothing wrong with that. Some of the best players play bluegrass.)

Cool picking. Sounds like out on the farm

[–] 1 pt

Damn I can't place that. Is that Blackberry Blossom, Boil the Cabbage Down? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Flat picking acoustic guitar. Cool stuff.

GuitarNiggers!

[–] 1 pt

Damned right!

Now sing us a song!

Didnt get a chance to post last night with so much going on but i did record this week jist didnt have time tp upload until today but this would have been my post last night.

[–] 0 pt

That's alright. Thanks for sharing. You'll still get heard by at least a couple of us and it'll end up in the archives.

i think it turned out decent. 59 deluxe amp model on the fender champion natural clean pre amp on the boss gt1

used neck pickup for the chord progession bridge for hammer on chords dubbed over and a all positions atleast one for all positions jist a little reverb and mid boost for over drive

mid boost was 40% gain all other settings default. im trying get used to using other areas of the guitar. though if one notice i used 12th and down mostly easier for me to fret. i kinda would like a longer neck like a bass or 1-12th smaller frets so 13 and up could be slightly bigger. enjoy

I'm thinking about grabbing a Fender Mustang LT-25. The modeling is pretty good and I don't always feel like screwing with the Kemper.

Hello everyone. My buddy Verle came over a couple of times this week along with my other friends. It's cool to jam with Verle cause I can play these riffs or melodies that I make up on guitar and he just jumps in and starts singing, even when the song doesn't have any lyrics yet. Or sometimes I will play songs that I think he will know the words to as I know he listens to them a lot, but even then, like this here example I am about to share with you, he just sings what ever is at the tip of his tongue or the top of his head, I dont know where it comes from really, and I don't think I want to know. Anyways, here he is singing

[–] 1 pt

LOL I'm not so sure you should take him out and put him on stage.

Things will not go well. Trust me...

[–] 0 pt

If he were to join us when we were playing out he would be relegated to a back up singing role

[–] 0 pt

Y'all might want to insist on sobriety.

Trust me on this one...

[–] 1 pt

Lol he is in a good mood huh

[–] 0 pt

He sure was! he was having some fun!

[–] 1 pt

thats all that matters in music is enjoyment. tell him he aint the only one singing funny songs out there. i do lots of acoustic parodies

[–] 1 pt

I talked a man out of falling to his death yesterday. My life has been so fucking weird.

Here's an instrumental.

(not the red hot chili peckers song)

[–] 1 pt

What? Was he suicidal? We need to know more. Was it a stranger? There are so many questions.

The music is interesting. I felt like the guitars were talking to me in a foreign language I could not understand.

[–] 1 pt

Thanks.

Yeah, the whole thing is fuckin' with my head. I have to drive by where it happened when I'm headed to and from work.

I'll write up a s/ThingsThatShape about it and share the link when I post it.

You saved a guy's life?

[–] 0 pt

I hope he wasn't a pedophile.

[–] 1 pt

That is indeed unusual. Not very many people have had the chance to do that.

[–] 0 pt

Kudos on being a good person and helping someone out. Secondly nice melody. Would sound great in a stereo

Here I have a Grateful Dead song that Chris and I did. I had never heard this one before we played it but when he told me it was the Grateful Dead I came up with this part that I think makes it sound like the dead.

[–] 1 pt

Wow that's sounds really good. You guys were tight on that one. Good vocals by Chris.

[–] 0 pt

Thank you. There was a Gordon Lightfoot one where I thought it was 1972 and I was in the room with Gordon Lightfoot while Chris was singing it,

[–] 0 pt

Yeah, it's a Dead song. Except it wasn't. It's also known as "Woman Blues" and has been done by all sorts of people - including the Dead. It's a traditional blues song, brought back to life in the 50s as I recall.

[–] 0 pt

I did not know that.

[–] 1 pt

Nope. Most folks don't.

Someone's gotta take COF's place! (I was not nearly as thorough.) Everyone from Hot Tuna to James Taylor have covered it - though I forget Taylor's name for it. Circle Around The Sun? Something like that.

[–] 0 pt

Hello and welcome to another FNGT! Once again, we still don't have anything new - but we do have an oldie that should make you rock.

There... That oughta make your butt wiggle. Rock on, Poalr Bears. Rock on!

[–] 2 pts

Man that is bad ass. You guys got yourselves a good band.

[–] 0 pt

That one was actually just part of the band. The missus and J were involved and I covered at least the drum but maybe did the guitar parts or the bass parts. I think it was the missus who did the guitar parts.

[–] 1 pt

Amazing playing as always. Id enjoy a huge concert watching yaw play. The show yaw could put on

[–] 0 pt

If you hunt around, you can actually hear me with a big ol' band in front of some pretty sizable audiences.

Here's some:

(No need to add the above to the archives. It's not a single song, just a category on my sharing site.)

[–] 1 pt

[–] 0 pt

This is tremendous! Super fucking awesome! I don't remember hearing this before

[–] 0 pt

I think it has only been shared once. I only noticed 'cause I had an old sharing site still in my open tabs and stumbled across it.

[–] 0 pt

Cool. I loved it!
