I've never lived anywhere else so I don't really know any different
I've lived mid-coast and spent a ton of time in Florida. So, I've experienced different climates. I didn't grow anything in those other places, however. Hell, I don't even 'grow' my own garden anymore. I have people who even do that for me. It's not really a step towards retiring, it just means I spend that time elsewhere.
Well yeah, when you can afford to pay others to do those tasks that keep you from the things you more enjoy, that is well worth the price of admission.
I like food from the garden. I kinda almost sorta liked gardening, but then I broke my femur and realized how much I actually don't like the gardening part of it. So, I'm okay with that.
By the way, today is 4/20... Smoke 'em if you got 'em.
