The lottery is a tax on stupid - or at least people who don't understand math. (The term is similar to illiteracy, it's innumeracy. And most people suck at math, even if they have a good grasp of arithmetic.)
Sure, you can't win if you don't play - but you're more likely to get struck by lightning than you are to win a big prize amount. You're more likely to be killed by a truck carrying bananas than you are to win big at the lottery. Your odds of winning the jackpot are infinitesimally small.
In short, buying lottery tickets is a bad idea. It'd be smarter to save that money - or even just to chuck it out the window while you drive down the road.
LoL I don't waste money on lottery tickets. That would imply that I had money! LoL
Good idea!
I have been known to buy a scratch ticket now and again, but that's just for fun. I'm actually up on that 'cause I haven't bought that many and I've actually won a few bucks. I bought two tickets to scratch in the car while dating a chick. We won 1000 on one and 100 on the other.
Ain't no way in hell that I've spent 1100 on the lottery. Hell, I've probably not even spent $100 on the lottery.
We were able to redeem the small amount but the 2nd one had to be paid by check at the lottery HQ in the state capital. They took taxes out of it, of course. I think we ended up with like $700 total from both tickets.
In fact, I bet I've spent less than $50 on lottery tickets.
I also get pretty lucky (and can read the stats) when I bet on the ponies.
I've never won much on the lottery, once I had a $40 winner, I didn't buy the ticket, someone gave me it as a gift and I got $40. I have spent a dollar here or there but probably less than $50 over the course of my life like you
I've never bet the ponies. That's not available where I live
