Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask Crazy, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

You just might have to get used to the lag

I'm pretty used to it already. It's not that bad, really. We're talking like a second and a half of lag. Sometimes it's a few seconds.

But, that's tolerable for anything I do - except it does slow down browsing a bit. My habits will likely change in accordance with the timing.

I suspect that second and a half of lag is enough for the forum's software to glitch on a database write or refresh operation - more likely the latter than the former.

If I had to really guess, I'd bet the place to fix it in the code would be somewhere in the same area as flood controls. With a packet sent here and a packet sent a little later and a packet sent even later (etc) it quite probably means it's triggering something in flood control. At least that'd be where I'd first start investigating solutions to resolve this.

However, I'm not even gonna bother to report it. I'll just try to get used to checking to see if it submitted in a timely manner.

That sucks when you think things have been sent but they haven't

Yeah, I'll have to develop the habit of checking. It's not like I'm going to sit there with the tab open and just waiting to see it submit. My attention span isn't all that long.
