Definitely not. Though, to be fair, you'd still have to be careful about not pinging off the rev limited in a manual - assuming the manual also has that built in. It's some GM transmission, so it's probably built into both.
So many cars come with rev limiters. My M6 has no such thing. If I want to blow the engine, I can drop it into 1st gear and wrap the needle over the red line and blow the fucking engine.
It'll happily let me blow the engine and buy a new one.
I'd rather not do that - but I can if I want to!

it's a rarity to find one that doesn't. It's probably a bad idea to not have a rev limiter.
When you're in the upper realms of RPMs and gaining more RPMs is just a light throttle flick away, you probably want to help reduce the problems introduced by the human element.
