I will ask him, he did mention something about not being up at the top or anywhere close anymore cause his game hasn't been working for him for a couple weeks

Yeah, to be at the top, I'm expect (not know, but expect) that it requires constant attention and playing the game for many, many hours per day - to the exclusion of many other activities. While you sleep, someone else is getting points. Taking a day off, never mind weeks, would be a complete end to your ranking in first.

Probably... I'm only speculating... I don't actually play the game.
