They didn't last very long, actually. Their time together was pretty damned short (as memory serves). So, they not only had a lot of hits, they did so pretty quickly.

Yeah, all of those great songs came out in something like a three year window

I heard something somewhere along the way that the other band members were jealous that John Fogerty was writing all the songs and they wanted to write songs too, and their songs sucked
