I don't think I've been there. If I had been, I'd have noticed. I'd have been, "Hey, look, we're in Maine!"

I tend to look for the little signs that tell you what town and/or county you're in. So, I'd have noticed it - or noticed it on the map when figuring out where to go next or where I'd been the day before.

It is pretty much the middle of nowhere in the north center of the state

Maine is pretty much the middle of nowhere in the northeast part of the country.

And, I've been in thousands of places that could be described that way.
