There was a lot of damage, lots of trees down all over the place, none of my trees though thankfully
They're pretty speedy at restoring power here. We'll have 200,000 people without power and it'll be back the following day.
(That's like 1:6 of the entire state's population - and scattered across many, many miles.)
They get lots of practice.
Ste street I live on is one of the main business streets on this side of town. I believe there are only two houses on the entire five miles of the road. There are over a thousand businesses. My property is in fact zoned as commercial property, I bought my house here because there is no noise ordinance where anywhere else in town here between 10PM and 7AM you can not be loud. Where I am I can be as loud as I want any time of day. I remember being at verles jamming in the back yard with Chris on acoustic guitar and the cops showed up at 5 after 10 at night and told us to shut it down. That sucks. That does not happen where my house is, even though I am in town
I'm pretty sure there's no noise restrictions where I live.
At the very least, nobody with any authority has told me to quiet down.
When I first moved in, a neighbor wandered over while we were making noise. I got 'em shitfaced. They didn't complain about the noise.
