I'm often practicing over backing tracks, so it makes sense to me. I've yet to use any from that site, however.
Whats nice about wikiloops is. You can start a track. With what ever instrument or vocals you want. Then people download and record there own part, upload it as a remix.
Some catch on and you get a full band or even 10's or artists all working on one song.
I have a payed membership. The free only allows 1 upload a weak, and one download a day.
I had a huge burst of inspreation and record bass lines for like 6 tracks in a weekend.
Some really good musicians on there as well.
Ever heard of Jamulus?
I have indeed bumped into Jamulus, and even tried it. They say low latency, but the latency was too high for us to use it.
