yeah it is repairable. this one looks to be one of those pain in the ass to replace

Hmm... You could probably take it to a shop and spend like an extra fifty bucks - and if they break it further they've gotta replace it.

I am a bit curious... Is the touchpad and keyboard all a part of a single unit?

no this one is not a single unit, the touchpad is probably integrated into the plastic cover

Ugh... That's gonna suck...

I'd consider saying fuck it and paying someone else to deal with it. Or, well, to be more realistic I'd probably just toss it in the trash and replace it. I might even take it out back and shoot at it a few times to prevent data recovery.
