Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

I can see that, though I confess to not knowing what Toejam and Earl are.

I also can't quite place what effects they're using on the bass for that jam. It almost sounds like a bizarre rapid mouth movements of a talk box mixed with a wah pedal... I kinda want to dig around and try to recreate it, but I'm much too lazy for that.

I think it's called an auto-wah or an envelope filter.

It certainly sounds like there's a wah in there. I'm not as well versed on applying effects to a bass as I am a regular guitar. I play clean, maybe at the edge of breakup. I control it with the volume and tone knobs, relying on technique more than anything.

Their track also sounds a bit compressed. So, there's probably a compression pedal in the mix.
