Once again, it's time for the FNGT!

If you don't know how this works, . That link will take you to another site to give you some additional information and tell you about some of our off-site features. That's also the site where we will host the weekly guitar threads, should Poal go down.

NOTE: That site is by invitation only. If you want an invite, and you're a regular participant, then just ask theBuddha, or myself.

If you do know what's going on, you probably don't need to click that link - but you may want to, to make sure you know of the other features, such as the archive or a separate forum that's invite only.

Remember, we are guests here on Poal. Let's act like it. If you're interested in supporting Poal, then .

Nah, in reality it kinda matters. You're not going to consistently get good results out of a shitty guitar - meaning things like being able to play for hours with it staying in tune, proper intonation, and then ease of playing. Sure, you can just play it loud and that compensates for a lot, but it's not really totally true.

It's just kinda a generalization.

Good gear will sound better in the end. Like, recording on a cell phone isn't going to give you better results than recording in a studio that has proper recording gear with microphones that cost more than your guitar collection.

But, yeah... A good musician can make shitty gear sound okay. A shitty musician can't really make good equipment sound all that good.

So, it's a bit of a generalization.

Sure, I can play classical guitar on a Hello Kitty guitar - or I can play it on a $20,000 guitar and actually sound objectively better.

Thats why I said functional guitar LoL

For this, I'm thinking there are functional differences in a functional guitar. (See what I did there? Ha!)

I can make my original Yamaha GC classical guitar sound like the proverbial angels in heaven. I can get a lot better tone, consistency, and playability out of a custom guitar that was crafted by an expert to my specifications.

So, I guess it's a bit of a sliding scale?

I can make my cheap Chibson Les Paul sound good - but I can't really (at least by itself) make it sound quite like a Gibson Les Paul. I can probably get it close enough to fool someone that isn't all that experienced, however.

Speaking of guitars, I've been wanting to buy a new one or two... I won't let myself buy one until I resolve my space issues - I think... So far I've not let me buy one. That'll hopefully motivate me to deal with the mess sooner.

I've got a ton of guitars in that spare room, so I'm not going to even consider being the one to move them elsewhere - especially not down a flight of stairs. I still haven't counted 'em all, but there are a bunch. I should probably go through them and do identifications on all of them.
