I would too! So thats 50 miles?
There and back is just under 50 miles. I've broken the 20:00 mark a couple of times, but that's scary. It also needs to be timed to perfection and everything has to go perfectly. Just one other car on the road can slow you down - plus there is all sorts of wildlife that hangs out in the road or crosses the road.
That's also not quite the full distance. My 'time trials' don't start until I get to the main road - so a bit more than a mile is lopped off. I've made about an 80 mph average - which might not seem impressive until one actually tries it. There aren't many long straight sections. You should be aiming to maintain an average speed of about half that value.
Which car did you do it in under 20 minutes?
It wasn't all that long ago. I'm pretty sure it was the 720S that I last broke the twenty minute mark.
I've also done it in an (comparatively slow) 80s M series set up for rally racing. However, everything was on my side when I did it in that car. It involved making every corner as straight as possible, so I spent a bunch of time in the opposite lane.
I think I may have done it in my M6 but I'm not sure. I've done it a couple of times. Usually something ends up slowing me down. Once you scrub speed, you're losing time. It's easier to build the speed back up in something like a 720S.
