Oh yeah, I've heard of Takamine. I always liked Ovations, for some reason all the ones I ever picked up had good action and sounded nice.
Wonder whatever happened to those Carvin guitars you could mail order.
Jimmy Rogers' widow gave my dad a guitar and told him he could keep it if he'd just learn a few chords but he gave up quickly. She and my grandmother were best friends in San Antonio.
Ovation makes great guitars. I take an Ovation 12 string on stage with me, as a general rule. Things are rock solid and don't care about humidity or temperatures.
Oh wow, yeah I forgot they make 12 strings, man it's been over three decades since I played one.
What acoustic numbers would you (do you) play live?
We do a lovely rendition of Going To California, it sometimes will get used on Stairway to Heaven, and it gets brought out for some Eagles. There are some newer songs that it can get used on, but it depends on the set list. We have set lists for pretty much ever occasion.
