You prefer lighter gauge strings, or heavier gauge strings?

I assume you're putting electric strings on the acoustic, or is it the other way around?

So long as they're metal with some steel in them, they'd be picked up by the pickups. Albeit not that well, just like electric guitar strings won't resonate properly on an acoustic. They're very different things!

But, I suppose it works in a pinch...
